Myrrh Resin
Myrrh Resin
Myrrh is an ancient, famous resin/sap from a thorny little tree (Commiphora myrrha). It's been used across many cultures, for magical and medicinal purposes, for a very long time.
The resin is gathered from nicks in the tree bark, and it hardens into lumps which can be made into many other things.
It's been used for dental hygiene purposes, but in more folkloric or religious applications it's been used for purification, protection, exorcism, funerary ceremonies, and more.
It can be blended with other plant resins and material, to make fragrant incense.
